5 websites, 7 characteristics
I had originally chosen 5 music sites, but have changed my decision. The music sites werent astetically pleasing to me. I was going to put the original stonefest image up as well, as I actually like the way the website looks at the moment, with the beautiful swirls and interesting design, but wasn’t sure if I could include that site in my reference.
I have now chosen 5 other sites, being ‘sex and the city TV show’, ‘sex and the city movie’, ‘That 70’s show’, ‘Friends’ and ‘He’s just not that into you movie’. I have created the images so you can click on them and be taken to the original website.
I really like the vibrancy of the images, and how the site is quite busy. I think for a successful website such as Stonefest, the page would have to be quite busy. There is a thin line between busy and ultra busy - being too busy to concentrate on where you want to go on the page. Having a busy site could be hard to distinguish where the links are and what info it is that you are looking for, but I think these sites have done a goodjob at not being too cluttered… and they are easily readable and distinguishable by what it is they are trying to represent.
1. The intro’s to each website are awesome and very unique. They all have something exciting and entertaining as you enter the site. 2. They all have a scroll bar down the right hand side, and none have a scroll bar along the bottom, although the sex and thecity movie site moves across when you move the mouse (but without the scrolling). 3. They all use bright and vibrant colours. Some sites might be brighter than the other, but the colours suit the site and make the webpage its own. 4. All of the sites have fun areas to click on, and take you to another screen or area. 5. The backround stands alone from the original content. 6. All the sites are 1280 x 800 pixels. However two of the pages are slightly smaller, but use the leftover space on the right as the background colour. 7. No RSS on any of the sites.
